Kitty Duterte conveys dad's message at rally
VERONICA "Kitty" Duterte shared an inspiring message from her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is detained in The Hague, Netherlands.
Speaking at a PDP-Laban campaign rally in Muntinlupa City on Wednesday, Kitty emphasized her father's call for Filipinos to stand up for justice and integrity.
"My Dada Rody and I talked yesterday. He told me that he was very proud of me and that I should keep doing this," she said.
Duterte is facing charges related to crimes against humanity, specifically concerning the war on drugs during his administration.
Kitty echoed her father's sentiments: "Do good, fight for your country, and fight for what is right." She added that Duterte reassured her, saying, "Don't worry because this is not forever, God will intervene."
The rally was a significant moment for Kitty as she took on a prominent role in political discussions ahead of May 12 elections.
The former president was arrested in the Philippines on March 11, based on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
