LA County braces for heat wave hitting SoCal this weekend
People across Los Angeles County have been dealing with a heat wave the past few days — one that will continue into the weekend.
The heat wave is expected to bring triple-digit temperatures to some parts of the region. Highs of 95-105 degrees are anticipated for areas away from the coast, and 70-80 degrees along the beaches, according to the National Weather Service.
In Downtown Los Angeles, Friday will reach a high of 85 degrees, and the weekend will reach a high of 83 degrees.
Beach cities, such as Long Beach, will reach a high of 76 degrees on Friday and 75 degrees over the weekend.
It is recommended that people stay hydrated, take frequent breaks in air conditioning or shade, as well as shift outdoor activities away from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
