Man injured in stabbing at Arcadia Metro station, suspect arrested
A man was stabbed in the abdomen at an Arcadia Metro station on Wednesday afternoon, July 30, after another man allegedly asked him for drugs and insulted his girlfriend, police say.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. The suspect, a 35-year-old Los Angeles man, has a superficial injury to his face, which was treated at a hospital, police said in a statement. Upon his release, he was arrested by Arcadia Police Department officers on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
The stabbing occurred at 201 North First Avenue, at the Arcadia Civic & Transit Plaza, where Arcadia’s station for the Metro Gold Line is located. Just after 1 p.m., the victim was sitting on a bench when he was approached by the suspect, who asked him for drugs. The victim declined, and the suspect then insulted the victim’s girlfriends, the police statement said.
The suspect and victim got into a physical altercation that resulted in the victim being stabbed in the abdomen. The victim and suspect did not know one another, according to Arcadia Police.
