Man who reportedly left SUV is killed by big rig on 5 Freeway in Sun Valley
An SUV driver who reportedly ran into traffic was struck and killed by a big rig on Sunday, April 13 on the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley, authorities said.
The death occurred at about 9:25 a.m. on the northbound freeway near the Sunland Boulevard off-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A caller reported to the CHP that a man exited the dark-colored SUV and ran into traffic.
A Sigalert was issued at 9:48 a.m. closing all lanes of the northbound freeway.
A representative from the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner was called to the location at 10:28 a.m.
No further information was immediately available.
