Polls show momentum for Go, fellow candidates
SEN. Bong Go maintaining the top position in the April Stratbase-SWS senatorial survey and a significant lead in the most recent OCTA Research results confirms the growing public support for the Duter-10 group of candidates aligned with Duterte.
In the SWS survey conducted between April 11 and 15, Go garnered the support of 45 percent of the respondents — an increase from 42 percent in March and 38 percent in February. In OCTA's April survey, Go again led the rankings with 64.2 percent, up from 58 percent in January.
The trend solidifies Go's status as the most-favored candidate across surveys and emphasizes the impact of his health-oriented legislative agenda.
"I am not a politician who will make promises to you. I will only do my job to the best of my ability. Consider me your neighbor whom you can approach at any time," said Go in Filipino.
In both surveys, other members of the Duter-10 are similarly rising. Sen. Ronald Dela Rosa increased from 21 percent in December to 32 percent in April in SWS, and from 36 percent to 40.4 percent over the same period in OCTA, solidifying his spot in the Magic 12.
Phillip Salvador, another Duter-10 stalwart, jumped from 10 percent in December to 18 percent in April in the SWS poll, and reached 24.4 percent in the OCTA survey.
Lawyer Jimmy Bondoc rose from 3 percent in January to 9 percent in April in SWS, and from 4 percent to 13.2 percent in OCTA, enough to place him within striking distance of the leaders.
Another lawyer, Raul Lambino, also made steady progress. He moved from 1 percent in December to 8 percent in April in SWS, and from 1 percent in January to 10.0 percent in April in OCTA. SWS had Jayvee Hinlo moving up from 1 percent in January to 6 percent in April, and OCTA noted a rise from 1 percent to 8.3 percent.
Independent candidate Rep. Rodante Marcoleta improved from 6 percent in December to 13 percent in April in SWS. OCTA showed a corresponding rise from 11 percent in January to 19.3 percent in April.
Pastor Apollo Quiboloy held his gains over time: 2 percent in December to 6 percent in April in SWS; 5 percent in January to 8.2 percent in April in OCTA.
Vic Rodriguez advanced from 3 percent in December to 7 percent in April in SWS, and from 4 percent to 12.5 percent in OCTA.
Richard Mata gradually increased from 2 percent in January to 3 percent in April in SWS, and from 2 percent to 4.2 percent in OCTA.
