Valley Village man charged with drugs-for-sex encounters with underage girls
A Valley Village man has been charged with allegedly providing drugs and alcohol to underaged girls in exchange for sexual acts, authorities said.
Ivan Hernandez, 30, was arrested on March 23 and booked on charges of child endangerment and possession of nitrous oxide, the Burbank Police Department announced in a social media post on Thursday, May 1. The arrest was the result of a call to police and subsequent investigation into suspected drug activity, during which Hernandez was found in his vehicle with an underaged girl, according to the department.
Hernandez allegedly used Instagram to locate and prey on minors, arranging to exchange nitrous oxide, marijuana, and alcohol to underage girls for sexual acts, police said. He is also believed to have often recorded the encounters with the underage girls on his cell phone, officials said.
Detectives believe there may be more victims and are asking the public for help. Police say Hernandez is known to have used the following Instagram handles to contact minors: noznbars, n2ohead, nawzhead818, nozzhead_818, and nozzhead818_.
Days after Hernandez’s arrest, the LA County District Attorney’s office filed multiple felony charges against him, including three counts of unlawful sex with a minor under 16, two counts of arranging to meet with a minor for lewd purposes, and one count each of child endangerment, oral copulation of a minor under 16, lewd or lascivious acts with a minor 14 or 15 years old, and possession of child sexual abuse material. Hernandez is currently being held without bail.
Anyone with information regarding Hernandez’s possible involvement in other cases is asked to contact Detective Shifley of the Burbank Police Department at (818) 238-3210.
